About this product
Traditional rice wine of Sarawak's indigenous peoples, fermented from glutinous rice with local ragi yeast. Small commercial bottlers in Kuching now sell it as a souvenir-friendly bottled product.

The duty-free allowance for alcohol is 3 bottles (calculated at 760 ml per bottle). Excess amounts are taxed at simplified rates: whisky/brandy 800 yen/L, rum/gin/vodka 500 yen/L, liqueur 400 yen/L, shochu-type spirits 300 yen/L, and other beverages such as wine and beer 200 yen/L. Travelers under 20 receive no alcohol allowance. Declare any excess on the customs declaration form.

Conditions apply — check first liquids cabin
On international flights, liquids in cabin baggage are restricted (MLIT: restrictions on liquids in aircraft cabins on international flights). Under ICAO standards, liquids must be in containers of 100 ml or less, placed in one resealable transparent plastic bag of 1 L or less per passenger. Security screening on departure from Malaysia follows the same ICAO standards, but details such as bag size and duty-free STEB handling vary, so confirm with your airline and Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Sauces such as sambal, honey, and perfume all count as liquids.
