浅野長晟
Son of Asano Nagamasa. Moved from Wakayama to become lord of Hiroshima in 1619, after which the Asano family ruled Hiroshima until the Meiji era.
After Fukushima Masanori's removal, the second shogun Tokugawa Hidetada placed Nagaakira in Hiroshima, "the linchpin of the Chugoku region," with a domain of 426,500 koku. He is said to have entered the castle on August 8, 1619. From 1620 he began building Shukkeien as the garden of his villa.
