浅野長政
A warlord who served Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Placed in charge of Kai Province with his son Yoshinaga in 1593, he completed Kofu Castle, which Hashiba Hidekatsu and Kato Mitsuyasu had begun.
Excavations at the castle have turned up roof tiles bearing the Asano family crest, tiles decorated with gold leaf and vermilion, and tiles with the Toyotomi crest. Yamanashi Prefecture takes these finds as evidence that the castle was built in this period.
