浅野忠吉
Senior retainer of Asano Yoshinaga, lord of Kii. Granted Shingu, he began building Shingu Castle in 1601, and moved to Mihara Castle in Bingo in 1619.
The castle was abolished under the 1615 one-castle rule but approved again in 1618, only for him to leave Shingu the next year when the Asano were moved to Hiroshima. The rougher stone walls in the main enclosure and Kanenomaru are said to survive from the Asano period.
