Azai Nagamasa

浅井長政

Third lord of the Azai family of northern Omi. He married Oda Nobunaga's sister Oichi but later fought Nobunaga alongside the Asakura and was destroyed at Odani Castle.

Tradition

Story

In 1573, with Nobunaga's army attacking Odani, he is said to have taken his own life in the residence of his senior retainer Akao Kiyotsuna near the main enclosure. A stone now marks the spot.
