伊達忠宗
Second lord of the Sendai domain and son of Date Masamune. He added the Ninomaru (second enclosure) at the foot of the hill below the mountaintop main enclosure, and from then on the Ninomaru was the center of domain government.
He received permission to build the Ninomaru in 1638, and it was finished in the sixth month of 1639. The move downhill is thought to have been made because the hilltop main enclosure was hard to get to and from.
