本庄繁長
Head of the Honjo, a powerful warrior family of northern Echigo, and lord of Murakami (Honjo) Castle. He fought for Uesugi Kenshin at Kawanakajima and elsewhere, but rebelled against him in 1568.
In 1568 he sided with Takeda Shingen against Kenshin and was besieged at Murakami, but held out for months in the hill fortress before making peace. The Senganmaru Well inside the castle is said to have kept his garrison supplied.
