A 15th-century Ainu leader regarded as the head of the Ainu side in Koshamain's War, the conflict with Japanese settlers that began in 1456. Records note that Shinoridate fell in 1457 during this war.

Story

The Matsumae domain's history Shinra no Kiroku, in its entry for 1457, writes his name in Chinese characters and records that this Ainu chief was killed. The record was written by the settlers' side; no Ainu account survives.
