松平康重
A hereditary Tokugawa vassal and the first lord of Sasayama Castle. He moved to Yakami in Tanba in 1608 and entered the new Sasayama Castle when it was completed in 1609.
Five years after the castle was finished, Yasushige marched from Sasayama to attack Osaka Castle in the Winter Campaign of 1614 and again in the Summer Campaign the next year. The city says the castle thus served exactly the role Ieyasu intended.
