Takeda Nobuhiro

武田信廣

Ancestor of the later Matsumae lords. He distinguished himself in Koshamain's War of 1457, married the adopted daughter of Kakizaki Sueshige, governor of Kaminokuni, built Suzaki fort, and in the late 15th century built Katsuyamadate. Kaminokuni Town credits him with laying the foundation of the 300-year Matsumae domain.

Story

The Matsumae domain's record Fukuyama Hifu says that in the year he built Suzaki fort, Nobuhiro held a "great ceremony of founding the state." Iozan Shrine, dedicated to him, still stands on the summit of Mount Iozan behind Katsuyamadate.
