A warrior of the Naegi Toyama family. Driven out of Naegi Castle by Mori Nagayoshi in 1583, he served Tokugawa Ieyasu, retook the castle in 1600 and became the first lord of the 10,000-koku Naegi domain.
He is said to have sent dried "victory chestnuts" to Tokugawa Hidetada as Hidetada marched toward Sekigahara; Hidetada's letter of thanks is held by the Naegi Toyama Historical Museum.
