ツキノエ
Chief leader of the Ainu of Kunashir Island in the late 18th century. He had ties with Russian traders and was involved in the aftermath of the 1789 Kunashir-Menashi conflict.
In 1778 Russian traders came to Nokkamappu in Nemuro, guided by Tsukinoe, to ask for trade. A record compiled in 1798 says that during the 1789 conflict he built a chashi on Kunashir and prepared poison arrows and spears. Afterward, with Ikotoi, chief of Akkeshi, and Shonko, chief of Nokkamappu, he carried out the questioning of those involved for the Matsumae domain's force at Nokkamappu.
