Yanagisawa Yoshisato

柳澤吉里

Eldest son of Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu, chamberlain to the fifth shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi. He moved from Kofu to Koriyama in 1724, and the Yanagisawa family ruled the Koriyama domain until the Meiji era.

Story

In the former main enclosure stands Yanagisawa Shrine, founded in 1880 by former Koriyama samurai and dedicated to his father Yoshiyasu. The Yanagisawa Bunko in the Bishamon bailey holds the family's records, including writings and paintings by successive lords.
