結城秀康
Second son of Tokugawa Ieyasu. Given the province of Echizen, he became the first lord of the Fukui domain and built Fukui Castle by boldly reshaping the remains of Shibata Katsuie's Kitanosho Castle.
Tradition says his father Ieyasu personally laid out Fukui Castle's design. The castle Hideyasu built was ringed by several water-filled moats and crowned by a keep with four roofs and five floors.
