畠山義総
Seventh head of the Noto Hatakeyama. He stabilized their rule over the province, and under him Nanao Castle and its town flourished. The Japan Castle Foundation lists him as the castle's lord.
In Yoshifusa's time, nobles and poets came from the capital to Nanao, and poetry gatherings were often held at his residence in the castle. A Zen monk who visited in 1544 wrote that Yoshifusa's mountaintop halls spread out like a bird's wings, painted in vermilion and indigo.
