Minowa Castle

In just over 30 years it passed from the Takeda to the Oda, the Hojo and the Tokugawa, until Ii Naomasa moved the castle to Takasaki and it was abandoned.

A leading general of Tokugawa Ieyasu. When Ieyasu took over the Kanto region in 1590, Naomasa was given Minowa Castle, and in 1598 he moved his castle to Takasaki. He later founded the Hikone domain.
The gate rebuilt at Minowa in 2016 stands on foundation stones from the Ii family's time in the late 16th century. When Naomasa moved his castle to Takasaki, Minowa was abandoned.
