Type 72
A model recorded in the official reports the Cambodian government has submitted under the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention (Ottawa Treaty) as an anti-personnel mine recovered inside the country. Two types are recorded: Type 72A and Type 72B.
History
In the Cambodian government's Article 7 report for 2017, CMAC declared the "72 A", and the local clearance organization CSHD declared the "Type72A and Type72B", as anti-personnel mines kept for training and research. Cambodia's landmine contamination is the result of a series of civil wars that lasted from the 1960s to the end of 1998, and according to the government's extension request, the mines commonly found in the country include ones made in Belgium, China, the former Czechoslovakia, former East Germany, the United States, the former Soviet Union, and Vietnam (this document does not specify which country made which model). This is an anti-personnel mine that explodes when stepped on. If you find anything suspicious, never go near it, never touch it, and tell an adult or an organization such as CMAC.
