Banteay Meanchey
A province in northwestern Cambodia on the Thai border; its capital is Sisophon. Its population in the 2019 census was about 860,000, and it is one of the provinces where landmine contamination along the border still remains.
Landmine situation
As of July 1, 2025, an estimated 39.0 km2 (38,968,493 m2) of anti-personnel mine contamination remains. It is one of the survey-target provinces along the Thai border, and in 2024 clearance and survey work continued there by CMAC, the HALO Trust, and other operators. (Target year: 2025) [Ref 0084]
