Cambodian Mine Action and Victims Assistance Authority (CMAA)
The government authority that manages and coordinates all mine action activities in Cambodia. Nationwide, it oversees the licensing and supervision of clearance operators, risk education, and support for people harmed by landmines.
Activities
It regulates, manages, licenses, coordinates, and monitors all mine action activities, including the clearance of landmines and UXO. It is also responsible for explosive ordnance risk education and victim assistance, and develops national mine action policy and strategic plans.
Achievements
Established by Royal Decree No. 160 of September 4, 2000, and chaired by the Prime Minister, it steers mine action for all of Cambodia. (Target year: 2000) [Ref 0038]
