Pailin
A small province in northwestern Cambodia on the Thai border; its main town is Pailin. Its population in the 2019 census was small, at about 75,000, but it is one of the provinces where landmine contamination remains along the border.
Landmine situation
As of July 1, 2025, an estimated 21.1 km2 (21,097,546 m2) of anti-personnel mine contamination remains. The estimate rose from about 12.2 km2 at the end of 2024 after the comprehensive survey of the Thai border area newly recorded about 16.5 km2, mostly scattered mines. (Target year: 2025) [Ref 0084]
