MAG (Mines Advisory Group)
A demining NGO founded in the United Kingdom in 1989. Active in Cambodia for more than 25 years, it is the only international mine action organization working on both landmines in the west and cluster munitions in the east.
Activities
It carries out manual and mechanical demining, uses mine detection dogs, runs mobile teams that respond to reports from residents, and provides risk education. In the west, it clears landmines, hand grenades, and mortar shells; in the east, it clears unexploded cluster submunitions dropped during the Indochina wars.
Achievements
In 2023 alone, it made 12,664,579 square meters of land safe and destroyed 4,050 landmines and items of unexploded ordnance. (Target year: 2023) [Ref 0042]
In 2023, it delivered risk education 3,166 times and directly assisted 40,936 people. (Target year: 2023) [Ref 0042]
