Preah Vihear
A province in northern Cambodia on the Thai border; its capital is Tbeng Meanchey. Its population in the 2019 census was about 255,000, and it is one of the provinces with wide landmine contamination remaining along the border.
Landmine situation
As of July 1, 2025, an estimated 62.7 km2 (62,712,711 m2) of anti-personnel mine contamination remains. In 2024, about 18.9 km2 of previously unrecorded hazardous areas were newly registered, and work to uncover the full extent of contamination continues; it is one of the provinces where CMAC concentrates its clearance work.
