The HALO Trust
One of the world's largest humanitarian demining NGOs and a British charity. Active in Cambodia since 1991, it works to clear the huge minefield known as the K5 mine belt that remains along the border with Thailand.
Activities
It clears landmines and unexploded ordnance, responds to reports from residents with explosive ordnance disposal, and provides explosive ordnance risk education at schools and in villages. In Cambodia, it employs about 1,200 staff from communities affected by landmines.
Achievements
