Project for Improvement of Equipment for Landmine and UXO Clearance Activities (Phases 1-7 and others)
A series of projects under Japan's grant aid that have delivered brush cutters, vehicles, mine detectors, and other equipment to CMAC. They have continued since 1998.
Overview
Starting with the first phase in 1998, Japan has provided CMAC with brush-clearing machines, vehicles, generators, mine detectors, protective vests, and other equipment. The Economic and Social Development Programme (demining-related equipment), signed in 2024 (1.166 billion yen), is under way.
Outcomes
From fiscal 1998 to fiscal 2024, eight grants of equipment totaling 7.743 billion yen were provided (as of April 2026). (Target year: 2026) [Ref 0051]
