Route

One-Hour Tsukiji1

Eat, look, buy. In that order, because the food closes first.

  1. Eat one thing

Pick from what is open now. A bowl if you have time to sit, a stick of tamagoyaki or a few pieces of standing sushi if you do not.

  2. Walk one street of shops

Knives, dried bonito, nori, pickles. You do not have to buy. This is the part of Tsukiji that fed the old market.

  3. Buy one thing that travels

Dashi packs, nori, a small knife (in checked luggage), tea. Nothing raw.

  4. Done終わり

If you have longer, the Uogashi rooftop is where you sit down.

Sundays, public holidays and market holidays close a good share of the shops. Check the Today panel first.
