採りすぎで資源が落ち込み、州は2021年の州法で採捕・運搬・水揚げ・流通を2024年4月30日まで禁じた。専業の潜水漁業者への支援に3年間で280万ユーロを充てている。「うまいから採り続ける」と資源が消えるという、世界のどこでも起きうる話が最も分かりやすい形で起きた島。Over-collection drove the stock down until the region banned collection, transport, landing and sale by law in 2021, running to 30 April 2024, with €2.8 million over three years to support professional divers. The island where the plainest version of the story — keep taking it because it is good, until it is gone — actually played out.

サルデーニャ州のウニ漁3年間の禁止（2021年州法）Sardinia's three-year sea urchin ban (regional law, 2021)
需要に押されて採りすぎ、西岸では15年でおよそ7割減ったと報告された。禁じるだけでなく、漁を止めた人の生活を支える予算をつけた点が特徴。禁漁明けの2024/2025年漁期と2026年漁期は、あらためて州の政令で条件を定めている。Demand drove over-collection; a roughly 70% decline over fifteen years was reported on the west coast. What marks this case is that the ban came with money for the divers who had to stop. The 2024/25 and 2026 seasons that followed are again set by regional decree.
