About J-Catalyst
J-Catalyst connects Japan's food and entertainment with the world.
We take enquiries from restaurants, bars, hotels and pastry shops and connect them with JA Hiroshima's Setoda lemons.
Chefs visit the orchards; growers get to know the restaurants. We create occasions for both.
Fairs, articles and this site: we share the background of the growing area along with the food.
JA Hiroshima and the growers of Setoda
Listening to needs and timing, connecting with context
Into a dish, a drink, a pastry
J-Catalyst works to connect JA Hiroshima's lemons with professional kitchens. It is not an official agent or authorised representative of JA Hiroshima.
How it began
J-Catalyst's viewJ-Catalyst's work began with recovery support after the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Linking one region with another remains its central purpose.
Hiroshima was among the regions that did most to help Miyagi recover. It is well known that Miyagi's oyster farms, devastated by the tsunami, received support from Hiroshima, a fellow oyster-growing region.
We wanted to carry that bond forward through food. As a bridge born of the recovery, J-Catalyst is working to bring Hiroshima's Setoda lemons to Tokyo, to Tōhoku and to the world.
